About the Artist

For about as long as I can remember I have either been on a horses back or had a camera in my hand…for the past 32 years! My mother used to let me take her gorgeous little silver and black Yashica 35mm film camera almost anywhere I went with one exception, I wasn’t allowed to take it when I went horse-back riding. I think it was ineviteable that the two passions in my life come together for me and I couldn’t be happier that they have. I am an artist and that’s what I want to get back to, it is where I excel and it’s what makes me happy.

I attended college at Eastern Kentucky University soon after getting married in 1993 for a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art with an emphasis not only in Fine Art Photography but also in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. While attending college ceramics and painting classes were my therapy since I didn’t have as much time for horseback riding. I continue to attend workshops and classes in photography, photoshop and other classes all over the United States as well as teach classes myself.

The doors have been open to Danita Rogers Photography for over 10 years now and I look forward to the next 10 years!

I have any eye that is notably different than many photographers in my area. I was born an artist and creating images that are truly Fine Art is what photography is all about for me. Starting with the creative vision I have in my mind then making that happen with the initial image taken in-camera and if I feel the need moving on to digital artistry to further express my vision this way.

I see myself moving more and more into videography. I’m very, very excited about this, it will not be a total switch over to video, just an addition to my still photography.

I love creating art out of what I see and doing just that at your wedding is an honor I do not take lightly.
